Tunnelling Company Memorial
The Tunnelling Company Memorial project is well underway. Official dedication of the memorial will take place on Friday 22 January 2016. We have raised most of the money required and construction is ongoing. You can follow progress here.

Tunnelling Company descendant and supporter sponsorship is now requested. A donation of any size would assist with our plans to deliver both a fitting Tunnelling Company memorial as well as a memorable event. Contributions over $500 will be acknowledged on a sponsor's panel in the memorial area.
Waihi Heritage Vision Incorporated is a registered charity (Registration Number is CC50926) and GST registered. Donations are tax deductible. Details for donations:

Call for Remembrance Rocks for the Tunnelling Company Memorial Wall.

'Your children shall ask their fathers in time to come, what mean these stones.' Joshua 4.21.

New Zealand places associated with the Arras caverns have been asked to participate in the NZETC Memorial Wall Project. It is hoped to have a rock on the memorial wall from Russell, Auckland, New Plymouth, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Dunedin and Bluff, all names associated with the Arras cavern system.

Communities from throughout New Zealand who have links to the NZ Tunnelling Company story are also invited to provide a named rock. A large number of Tunnellers were born overseas. Rocks from overseas communities who share the Tunnellers story are very welcome.

Tunnelling Company family members are especially invited to send in named rocks.

Rocks should be about house brick-size. We would prefer the rock to have a significant link to the place supplying it, or to the individual enlistment. An inscription should be provided. Some rocks already received have used a plaque, others have text inscribed directly onto the rock.

Delivery is required by Friday October 16 by post or courier to Waihi Heritage Vision, Kit Wilson, Newmont Waihi Gold, 43 Moresby Ave. Waihi, New Zealand.
Research into the NZETC would not be possible without the assistance and encouragement of Tunnelling Company descendants and supporters.
